Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peakirik ja jõulusõnum tänases maailmas Tallinna vanalinna südames asuv Issanda Muutmise Peakirik ei ole üksnes arhitektuurimälestis ega ajalooline pühakoda. See on paik, kus sajandite jooksul on põimunud Lääne ja Ida kristlik traditsioon, poliitilised murrangud ning vaimulik järjepidevus. Just selles ajaloolises kontekstis omandab erilise kaalu ka Eesti Apostlik-Õigeusu Kiriku metropoliit Stefanuse jõululäkitus, mis kõlab kiriku võlvide all kui ajatu ja samas sügavalt tänapäevane sõnum. Metropoliit Stefanus rõhutab oma läkituses, et jõulud ei ole pelgalt mälestus minevikust, vaid elav tegelikkus: Jumal on saanud inimeseks ja elab meie keskel. See sõnum haakub sügavalt Issanda Muutmise Peakiriku ajaloo ja tähendusega, kus „muutumine“ on olnud nii teoloogiline kui ka ajalooline reaalsus. Issanda Muutmise tähendus: teoloogiline ja ajalooline mõõde Õigeusu traditsioonis tähistab Issanda Muutmine (kreeka keeles Μεταμόρφωσις – metamórphōsis, „muundumine“, „kirkastumine“) Kristuse jumaliku au ilmnemist Tabori mäel. See ei ole pelgalt väline muutus, vaid inimese kutsumine osadusse Jumala valgusega. Kreeka liturgilises keeles väljendatakse seda sündmust sõnadega: «Ἐμεταμορφώθης ἐν τῷ ὄρει, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός» (Emetamorphṓthēs en tō órei, Christè ho Theós) – „Sa muutusid kirkaks mäel, Kristus Jumal.“ Tallinna Issanda Muutmise kiriku nimevalik ei olnud juhuslik. Vene keeles tähendab Преображение samuti „muutumist“ või „ümberkujundamist“, viidates nii vaimulikule uuenemisele kui ka ajaloolistele muutustele vallutatud aladel. Seega kannab kiriku nimi endas mitmekihilist sõnumit, mis on aktuaalne ka tänapäeval Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peaki… . Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peakiriku ajalugu Algus tsistertslaste kloostrikirikuna Kirikuhoone rajati 13. sajandil algselt Tallinna Püha Miikaeli tsistertslaste nunnakloostri peakirikuks. Taani kroonikad seostavad ehituse algust aastaga 1249, mil Taani kuningas Erik IV Adraraha andis tõuke kloostri rajamiseks. Hoone kujunes välja mitme sajandi jooksul ning selle gooti võlvid kuuluvad Tallinna vanimate hulka Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peaki… . Reformatsioonist õigeusu katedraaliks Pärast reformatsiooni muutus kloostri funktsioon ning 1710. aastal, pärast Tallinna kapituleerumist Vene impeeriumile, anti kirik üle õigeusu kogudusele. 1732. aastal pühitseti hoone Issanda Muutmise kirikuks ning sellest sai Tallinna õigeusu kogukonna vaimulik keskus. Kuni Aleksander Nevski katedraali valmimiseni 1900. aastal täitis see kirik peakiriku ehk katedraali rolli Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peaki… . Arhitektuuriline muutumine ja kunstipärand 18.–19. sajandil läbis kirik mitmeid ümberehitusi, mis andsid sellele tänase klassitsistliku ilme. Erilise tähtsusega on barokkstiilis ikonostaas, mille kavandas Ivan Zarudnõi ja mille valmistamises osales kümneid meistreid. Ikonostaas on teoloogiline „pildiline evangeelium“, kus Kristuse sünd, elu ja kirkastus avanevad vaatajale ikoonide kaudu Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peaki… . Kirik kui eesti õigeusu vaimulik kese sajandi alguses, pärast vene koguduse lahkumist Aleksander Nevski katedraali, sai Issanda Muutmise kirikust eesti õigeusu koguduse vaimulik kodu. Siia paigutati ka püha märterpiiskop Platoni haud, mis teeb kirikust ühe olulisema mälestuspaiga Eesti õigeusu ajaloos Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peaki… . Kreeka keeles nimetatakse kirikut sageli sõnaga ναός (naós) – „püha paik“, mis rõhutab, et tegemist ei ole pelgalt hoone, vaid Jumala kohalolu paigaga. Metropoliit Stefanuse jõululäkitus ja Issanda Muutmise sõnum Metropoliit Stefanuse 2024. aasta jõululäkitus tuletab meelde kristluse keskset tõde: Jumal ei ole kauge ega kättesaamatu. Kristus sünnib maailma, et olla koos inimesega – tema kodus, rõõmus ja kannatuses. Kreeka keeles väljendatakse seda saladust sõnadega: «Ὁ Λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο» (Ho Lógos sárx egéneto) – „Sõna sai lihaks“ (Jh 1:14). See lause seob jõulud ja Issanda Muutmise üheks tervikuks: Kristuse sündimine ja Tema kirkastumine näitavad, et inimene on kutsutud valguse ja armastuse osadusse. Issanda Muutmise Peakirik, oma mitmekesise ja muutusterohke ajalooga, on selle sõnumi elav tunnistaja. Kokkuvõte Tallinna Issanda Muutmise Peakirik ei ole vaid mineviku mälestusmärk, vaid elav vaimulik ruum, kus ajalugu, teoloogia ja tänapäevane usuelu kohtuvad. Metropoliit Stefanuse jõululäkitus kõlab selles kontekstis kui kutse sisemisele muutumisele – μεταμόρφωσις –, mis algab Kristuse sündimisest inimese südames ja jätkub kogu elu vältel.
