Prayer for Peace, Europe, the Government of Estonia, and All People 2026 – A Powerful Christian Intercessory Prayer for Peace, Protection, and Blessing
Introduction
Collected Lutheran, Biblical, and Orthodox closing prayers carry within them a deep desire to bring different Christian traditions onto common ground – peace, love, and the truth of God. Although the historical paths and customs of these churches have been different, they are united by a shared faith in God, the power of prayer, and the desire to seek goodness for all humanity.
This text gathers the most meaningful prayer words of these spiritual traditions in order to find common ground, strengthen mutual understanding, and show that hearts can meet in prayer where divisions disappear. It is a call to unity, reconciliation, and spiritual cooperation for peace in Estonia, Europe, and throughout the whole world.
Prayer for Peace, Europe, the Government of Estonia, and All People 2026
Almighty God, Father, Elohim.
You are the Creator of all that exists. I am created in Your image and according to Your likeness. I thank You that You have called me to be a preacher and disciple, a teacher and apostle, to offer prayers, thanksgiving, and intercessions for all leaders and all people.
I bring before You the beloved homeland of Estonia: its government, president, prime minister, state secretaries, the leaders and governments of Europe, the parliament, the nations of the European Union, the NATO alliance, our defense forces, rescue services, diplomats, foreign delegations, district governments, local municipalities, and evangelists.
I bring before You the leaders of the Church – the Ecumenical Patriarch, metropolitans, bishops, priests, pastors, deacons, and all the people of God in Estonia, that You would grant peace to our nation and people, and also bring peace to Europe.
We ask You to give our leaders wisdom, the ability to cooperate, vision, and goals that would, in the long term, benefit the economy, the nation, and every person in Europe, if these are in accordance with Your will, Lord.
We ask for the revealing of Your will, awakening, and salvation for the people of Estonia. We ask for protection from terrorism, earthquakes, and war, so that under Your rule we may live in peace and justice, for the benefit of our neighbor, loving God, Europe, and Estonia with all our strength.
Lord Jesus Christ, remember Your mercy and compassion, and hear the voice of my prayer, I, an unworthy servant, which I raise for all people, governments, nations, unions, and organizations.
I offer this prayer as a spiritual sacrifice for my people. First remember the universal and apostolic Church, which You have redeemed with Your holy and precious blood. Nourish, enlarge, strengthen, and guide her.
Protect our people and grant them spiritual peace. You have destroyed the power of Satan and made peace between God and humanity. Unite now the divisions between Lutherans, Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox believers, that they may find common ground.
Have mercy and save the whole world. Silence the war in Ukraine and all wars in the world. Bring complete peace and Your rule to Europe. Protect us, Your people, from terrorism, earthquakes, and other disasters.
Cover the governments of Estonia and Europe with peace, that there may be balance, readiness, and peace in their hearts, and that they may carry out truth. Make us peacemakers.
Grant kindness in people toward Your holy body and Church. Grant to those who have asked us to make intercession for them peace, financial blessings, and health, and let their souls also enter into the glory of Your Christ.
Save, Lord, and have mercy on the sick, hard workers, proclaimers of Your Word in purity, and those who are in suffering, imprisonment, or hardship. Strengthen them in faith, grant them deliverance, answered prayers, and courage in the midst of persecution.
Do not let them give up, but strengthen and comfort them. Have mercy also on those who hate me and Christians, persecute us, and do evil. Do not let them perish, but turn them away from evil.
Illuminate the whole world with the light of Your knowledge, until the Gospel has spread everywhere, and raise us up at the final hour.
Amen.
